The Southern Los Angeles Patient Navigation and Wellness Center is a collaborative effort that aims to help members of the Los Angeles community that suffer from barriers to care and a dearth of health care resources by providing a “Patient Navigation” program and a “Social Support and Wellness Center” with a focus on patients at risk for, under care for, or living with cancer. The project’s geographic focus is in the Centinela Valley community which includes portions of Crenshaw, Watts, Compton, Westchester, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Gardena and Inglewood communities.
The social support and wellness center will provide a community-based physical space to support prevention and wellness educational programs as well as provide information and guidance through support group sessions.
If you have cancer, you are not alone! We can help you through our Patient Navigation Program. This program connects you with a patient navigator at the cancer treatment center. Our patient navigators will sit and listen to your situation and keep your information private. All of our patient navigators are trained to help you find the answers and information you need. This program is completely free.
The Wellness Center is a place where cancer fighters, survivors, and their families can come together and find support. You and your family will find something that will fit your needs. The center also has support groups and counseling services for everyone. The center provides educational workshops and seminars on a variety of topics like stress, depression, treatment side effects and understanding your insurance. We have a range of physical activities and classes such as nutrition, meditation, exercise and yoga.
